Welcome to
Carlyle Kindergarten

Nau Mai Haere Mai.

Community – We have a strong sense of community at our kindergarten and believe in fostering respectful, reciprocal relationships with children and whānau. Our kindergarten is culturally diverse and we work hard to ensure that everyone feels a sense of belonging within our community. Teachers cherish the support and involvement of parents, whānau and the wider community.

Independence and confidence – Children are supported to develop their individual mana through independent investigations, negotiation, goal setting and problem solving within the safety of our learning environment.

Environment – Our environment is calm and engaging which encourages children to take ownership of their own learning and at their own pace. The learning environment is constantly evolving and adapting to the interests of tamariki. Every day we set up different provocations which are focused on the current interest and develop different skills for individual children and for larger groups.

Sustainability – We are part of the Enviroschools Programme and this philosophy is embedded into our culture and programme. We encourage children to develop a connection with nature through the emphasis placed on sustaining and protecting Papatūānuku, recycling, reusing and repurposing where possible.
