Term Breaks

Twelve of our kindergartens are closed for two weeks, three times a year and for approximately four to five weeks over Christmas/New Year. The term breaks allow teachers to undertake annual and professional leave, plan for the next term, complete administrative tasks, and oversee completion of any maintenance work or projects. No fees are charged during Term Breaks.

Four of our kindergartens are not closed for term breaks and parents have the choice of whether they want their children to attend during the additional days offered or not. These kindergartens also return earlier in the New Year, again, optional for parents to access. Our teachers undertake annual and professional leave at various times throughout the year rather than all at the same time.

Our 2024 Term Dates are:

For Bette Christie, Taradale East, Wharerangi and Wycliffe Ngā Tamariki Kindergartens: 
8 January to 20 December  (no term breaks)

For all other kindergartens:
Term 1     19 January to 12 April
Term 2     29 April to 5 July
Term 3     22 July to 27 September
Term 4     14 October to 20 December

Our last day kindergartens are open in 2024 is Friday 20th December
